An old friend of Kreation,Mathew, received his blue belt recently in Australia. Congrats to him! Mathew, seen here with his instructor, Liam Resnekov.
Mathew is also wearing a Kreation patch on his pants!




A bunch of our boys from Singapore Poly participated in Jagsport's Adult No Gi Submission Grappling competition on 27th Nov Fri, pitting their skills against old and new friends. Some fine Jiu-Jitsu were displayed in the white-belt-only-event.

CONGRATS to Sul as he returns from the Asian Sambo Championship held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with 2 medals! The event, held between 1-6 June, saw participation from over 25 countries. So kudos to Sul for bringing home the following:

- Silver in Combat Sambo
- Bronze in Sport Sambo

AZIZ GOT GOLD!!! (2009 PAN ASIAN INTERNATIONAL BJJ)

Both Aziz and Scott participated in the latest 2009 PAN ASIAN INTERNATIONAL BJJ held in manila on the 2nd May.

Aziz managed to win GOLD in the very competitive Blue Belt 76.1 – 82kg division!


Scott got a SILVER from the Purple Belt Over 79kg and a BRONZE in Purple Belt Absolue.

In the Advanced and Elite Men’s no-gi division, Scott managed to bring home 2 BRONZES: over 77.5kg, and Absolute weight. Very tough competition for Scott, as he was pitted against some black belt competitors.

Well done and HUGE congrats to Aziz and Scott!!! we are very proud of you.

This week, Kreation bids goodbye to Aziz as he embarks on his travelling til 2010.

Since joining our club 2 years ago, Aziz has been a real asset. Always a tough, helpful and diligent training partner, Aziz's skills have grown leaps and bounds. One who doesn't shy from competitions, it was at one of the local tournaments that Aziz received his blue belt from Cristiano, after a dominant showing.

While it's sad to see him leave, we wish him all the best in the coming months, travelling and training. And good luck on your next tournament at Manila!

Til we meet again, buddy!

Post John Will Seminar April '09

A bunch of us (Kon, Steve, Scott, Yew Li, Leonard, Aziz and Sean 'Big Man') attended John Will seminar last night. Once again, John delivered an awesome workshop, not that we expected any less from him. Some very insightful 'invisible Jiu-Jitsu' was imparted. GEMS!

This past sunday Kreation hosted a seminar by Chico Mendes at Budo Academy. Mendes conducted 2 fantastic sessions (gi and no-gi) that covered takedowns, guard passes, chokes, etc etc. Very insightful details on common positions were imparted, and participants sure had a fruitful time.

A Gold Medal from the Fightworks Asia NoGi Tournament

Over the last weekend, a small team representing Kreation comprising Aziz El-Bakush, Ervin Lin, Hongjie Lim and Sean "Big Man" participated in the Fightworks Asia Tournament.

They performed on that day, and when the dust settled, Ervin Lin came off with a Gold medal win in his category of Advanced White and at the 63.5-70kg weight division.

Well done Ervin!

Along with Ervin, the group gained additional competition experience and are looking forward to the next event. As a team, they did us proud.

Morten gets his blue!`

Last saturday marked the next chapter of Morten's Jiu-Jitsu pursuit as he received his blue belt promotion from Cristiano. In good kreation tradition, Morten was put through a gauntlet as he grappled with everyone in class, one after another, and finally getting his legs tied together by the brand new belt.

Morten has been training for a whilte. A belt promotion is not about the time you've trained, but rather, the standard you've achieved.
